Brad

COMING SOON: 1 year old blue weim Handsome Brad came to us from a shelter in Texas where he was brought by animal control, a victim of chemical burns, 20 pounds underweight and with 'crate legs' (which is when the dog doesn't grow correctly due to over crating in a too small space. To top it all off he caught a very bad case of kennel cough and everyone was worried it might become pneumonia but we managed to avoid it. Our wonderful partners in Texas started his recovery and the past is well in the rear view mirror for this happy, goofy boy as h finishes his healing in Colorado.

Brad is healing super well. His burns are on the mend, his legs are getting stronger and he is slowly but surely putting on weight. He will only be available for adoption when he is well and truly well, but other than having to wear a UV shirt for life for longer periods in the sun we think he will leave this all well behind and have no lingering impact. Truly a miracle.

Remarkably - his foster reports Brad is amazing and in so many ways you would never know what he has come from. He is a leggy, puppyish goof ball- wanting to sit on laps and give kisses. He spent 4 hrs at an event in Denver and sat in every lap he could! He LOVES people and other dogs (cats probably a no because he has quite high prey drive). He loves to play and wrestle, he is good on leash in a harness and starting to learn off leash as well. He needs an ample supply of floofy toys to play with - but so far as shown no interest in anything in appropriate.

He is is still a puppy, mouthy and learning not to jump- but he is super smart and learning fast. He has learned sit, down and wait almost instantly. He would love to go to day care or the dog park and wrestle with like minded pals- but he is very respectful of the 2 old grumpy resident dogs (a Chihuahua and Weim). His house training is progressing, and he is actually good in a crate as well- though we don't want him too many hrs in one. He is on his way to be an amazing companion - he will melt all over you for love. The one thing we think would be best is no young kids- he is still sensitive around his back area and we think best to make sure people know and understand. As a side note he is a full tail Weim.

You are welcome to apply for loving, outgoing Brad, but please know he will not be available till likely mid November 2024.
